Bedtime and Beyond

Infant Sleep Consultancy

Wouldn’t it be lovely if every little one came with a personalised sleep manual telling us exactly, when they’re tired and how they need to sleep?

Consider it done.

Your baby is born without knowing when or how to sleep. They learn through the loving routines, comfort, and confidence you provide. With gentle, responsive support at their own pace, I can help give you those skills to teach them independent sleep, along with the space, rest, and calm evenings you deserve.

That’s why I created my sleep consultancy. I want to help families avoid that burnout and the stress that comes with it. Over the years, I’ve learned how to create gentle, tailored sleep strategies that fit each child and family. And the best part is that you can still have a life, enjoy your little one, and finally get some much-needed sleep!

My goal is simple: to help parents feel calmer, more confident, and a little more like themselves again—because thriving, not just surviving, is what parenting should feel like.

Hello - I’m Lottie,

I am a qualified Norland Nanny, Norland Maternity Practitioner and OCN qualified Sleep Consultant. I have a wealth of experience working with some of the most unique and wonderful families all over the world. Throughout my career, one topic keeps coming up time and time again: sleep. I’ve seen firsthand how exhausting it can be to try and be your best when you’re running on empty. I’ve felt it myself—I know what it’s like to push through the days on little to no sleep, and I understand how easily things can spiral when sleep isn’t restored.

I’ve cared for many little ones going through powerful sleep regressions, and I’ve watched parents try to manage everyday life whilst running on empty. In the past, I’ve felt withdrawn and low when sleep was lacking, and I know how quickly that exhaustion can take a toll on your emotional and physical wellbeing. It’s tough, and it can sneak up on you if you’re not careful.

FAQ’s

  • An Infant Sleep Consultant identifies current sleep issues, structures a plan to resolve these problems and supports you through implementing the necessary changes.  A good sleep consultant can take a family from sleep-deprived, to rested and revitalised in a matter of weeks.

  • This depends on your little one’s current sleep issues, the sleep goals you set and you must follow the sleep plan. Most often, you can expect to see improvements after 5-7 nights with consistently better sleep after 2 weeks.

  • The melatonin that helps your baby feel sleepy at night is not present during the day.  Once your little one is getting more rest at night, naps will begin to improve.

  • I started my Norland College journey in 2013 which is a three year course. Completing the Norland Diploma and BA Early Years Hons Degree.

The Norland Diploma requires Norland students to complete a full time nannying position lasting one year. Either sole charge or shared care. This is when students are called a ‘Newly Qualified Nanny’ (NQN).

My NQN sole charge year was with a family located in Oxfordshire between 2016 -2017 . I was sole charge for an 18 month old and three month old triplets.

In 2020, I undertook the Norland Maternity training.

  • Upon booking, I will send you a sleep log to complete over 3-4 days.  This will be followed by a 60 minute consultation.  You will then be able to begin your sleep journey right away or a date of your choosing, within reason.

  • There is never a 100% guarantee.

I have the highest confidence that my sleep training programmes and 1:1 support offer families the very best chance of success. I strongly believe that if you are committed to following my self-settling methods and are consistent in using my approach, you will improve the sleep of your whole family.

  • I do not use any form of Controlled Crying or Cry-It-Out method.  Implementing any change with babies and toddlers will never be free of tears. My gentle self-settling methods are built around comforting your child throughout their sleep training journey and beyond.

  • I use a range of gentle self-settling methods to improve the sleep of your baby or toddler.  I decide on the best method to suit the sleep needs of each child. I do not believe in the Ferber method or Cry-It-Out methods, nor do I ever use them.

The 5 Coins Story

You open your eyes each morning holding only five coins, and those five coins you must carry through the entire day.

You get to choose where you spend them, either to your little one, your partner, friends, the gym, work, the house, family, a social life and sometimes, if you’re lucky, a coin to be spent just on you. As the day goes on you spend you five coins until they are spent and you suddenly realise there’s no way to refill them until tomorrow when they reset. That’s when you realise you need more coins and have become over stretched. Now add lack of sleep into the mix and suddenly even the simplest task costs two coins instead of one. The burnout creeps in, stress rises, perhaps some tears on the bathroom floor. Sleep helps you spend your coins wisley. When you are well rested you spend fewer coins on each task. When you give yourself and your little one the gift of better sleep, you protect your well-being and everything else becomes lighter, calmer, and more manageable to find those happy everyday moments.

I’m here to bring sleep back into your home, so you can protect your coins.

Sleep Matters for your little one, and for you

You deserve rest too
